Technical Information

Throughout our project-based cooperation with the customers, we provide full technical support in the development and processes of the production. There are many details which need to be taken into consideration in the pre-production preparation and production of the used engineering plastics. In fact, as far as the main working group is PA, these details become much more important.

Polyamides are hydroscopic, meaning that they absorb water and retain moisture. This moisture in its structure affects the mechanical values of the products during the processing and post-production processes. For this reason, polyamides must be definitely dried to the required level before its processing. Production problems sometimes may occur due to over-drying. Hence, it is important to find the balance and to be measured.

The recommended drying temperature and the time for polyamides are 80 degrees and 4-5 hours, regardless of the pre-production conditions and applications. Production conditions should be adjusted without ignoring the fact that they will quickly retain moisture again during the standby and stoppage moments throughout the production. In case of high-temperature drying, thermal decomposition occurs in the material which leads to a colour change.
